According to the online statistics portal, Statista, during 2020, the first real estate investment trust in Mexico, Fibra Uno, led the ranking of leading real estate companies in our country based on net income. That year, the company reported sales of more than 19 billion Mexican pesos.

Fibra Uno has achieved the Gold level in the recognized Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design certification from the LEED Green Associate for Torre Cuarzo.

The building for corporate use has been awarded, under the LEED v4.1 O+M: Existing Buildings system, for its efficiency and sustainability, becoming a representative building in the Mexican nation by adding a Gold among the greenest buildings with one of the most prestigious sustainable qualifications.

To obtain the certification, Torre Cuarzo has achieved impeccable performance, since its operation was consistently sustainable for a period of 365 consecutive days (10/01/2020 – 09/30/2021).

Its efficient use of water stands out, since the tower consumes less drinking water than 92% of buildings of similar dimensions and occupancy. In addition to this, it consumes less energy than 85% of office buildings with similar climatic conditions; to be more specific, its refrigerants are CFC-free and have low ozone depletion and global warming potential.

Regarding vehicle emissions, 32% of the occupants use public transportation to get to their workplace, which is possible thanks to its excellent location, avoiding urban pressure towards natural areas.

In addition, Torre Cuarzo has a policy that prohibits smoking in its spaces and a green cleaning policy that reduces contaminants caused by traditional cleaning.

In the context of the pandemic, the facilities have health prevention measures, with a ventilation system that renews the air in 83% of its spaces. Inside, fresh air is breathed and contaminants such as CO2, suspended particles and pathogens (such as viruses) are not concentrated.

Regarding the interior, Torre Cuarzo conducted a satisfaction survey among its occupants, resulting in 97% being satisfied with the performance of the building, emphasizing satisfaction with cleanliness, lighting, exterior views, air quality, light natural and thermal comfort, all this added up to achieve the precious certification.

This is how the certification ends up consolidating a strong boost to real estate development in Mexico, while Torre Cuarzo is placed among the most outstanding buildings today.
