Toronto Police Investigate Hate-Motivated Assault on TTC Streetcar – Toronto | The Canadian News

Toronto police say they are searching for a wanted woman in connection with a hate-motivated assault aboard the TTC streetcar in late September.

Police allege a 28-year-old man was on the 510 northbound streetcar from Bremner Boulevard and Spadina Avenue around 7:30 p.m. on Sept. 23 when a group boarded.

Investigators said a woman in the group began to utter racial slurs at the man before spitting on him twice. She then covered her face with a gray blanket to hide her identity and got out of the car in the Queen Street West and Spadina Avenue area.

The woman is described as five foot six and 175 pounds. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a gray sweater, black leggings, and gray boots.

“There were several people who witnessed the assault. Investigators would like to speak to anyone who may have more information or know the identity of the woman, ”police said in a statement.
