Joe Natale will be replaced by Tony Staffieri as CEO of Rogers Communications Inc., according to two sources familiar with the matter.
Natale’s replacement by Staffieri, who was previously the company’s chief financial officer, comes after a bitter boardroom dispute that saw the Rogers family go to war and to court after Edward’s initial attempt Rogers to replace the CEO will be frustrated in September.
When the Rogers Communications board later voted to remove Edward as chairman, he used his position as chairman of the family trust that controls the company to remake the board of directors. A British Columbia court confirmed earlier this month that it had the power to do so without calling a shareholders’ meeting.
Edward Rogers said at the time that he and the board supported Natale as CEO.
