Thousands of women throughout history they weren’t hysterical. They had been forced to keep quiet, to obey, to conform, to accept unacceptable rules. Forced not to desire something beyond what was stipulated, because desire, we already know, moves and stirs. They were not crazy and still less were they free … and they rebelled, they did not conform. The crazy women were unauthorized, feared: As in any war, and the war against free women is still going on all over the world, it is about dehumanizing the adversary as much as possible. The crazy women, the hysterical women, the witches. At the stake, in the middle of the square, so that you, nonconformist woman, understand what the price of your freedom is.
