THUNDER BAY, Ontario. – The Thunder Bay Police Service is investigating several alleged cases of residents obtaining and possibly using false evidence of vaccination against COVID-19.
Police say a local social media account posted posts advertising the sale of fraudulent vaccine certificates.
Another social media account claimed that they had created and used a fake vaccination certificate proof.

Police say these and similar cases are being investigated by their criminal investigations unit.
They say creating and using false proof of vaccination certificates could lead to various criminal charges.
People in Ontario must provide proof that they are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 to access certain businesses and settings, including restaurants and gyms.
