Three to See: The Velveteins, BFA art show 2022 and Run Woman Run

The Velveteins: Dream-pop SXSW alumni The Velveteins are soaked in the brighter psychedelia of the ’60s, then dipped in the indie-rock explosion of the new millennium. Prolific and hardworking since the year of our lord 2016, the four-piece band’s live show is perfect date-night material, slow-dancers and side-huggers transmitting the sense that, at least for now, everything’s going to be all right, we can make it through. Southern Alberta’s jangly desert-rock Ghost Woman gets the night going in a wave of reverb at one of our city’s very best venues, The Aviary.
