GLOW: The Canada geese are back, and so is the Quarters Arts Society’s spring equinox celebration, GLOW! This year’s theme is mushroom fungi as a symbol of diversity, beauty and resilience, three of QAS’ major tenets. “After a two-year hiatus,” says artistic director Lorin Klask, “we are so excited for the return of our walking lantern parade and invite the whole community to walk with us. Our illuminated night parade will leave CO*LAB and weave through our neighborhood to bring magic to the streets.” The lantern workshop is already full, but the gallery with art by Yong Fei Guan opens at 3 pm, the parade at 8 pm and from 9:30 pm on there’ll be fire pits and music by King of Foxes and Electric Religious — everyone’s welcome!

MacEwan concerts: As millions are being displaced by Russia’s barbaric invasion of Ukraine, tickets sales from several upcoming MacEwan concerts through April 8 will be entirely donated to Ukraine’s relief efforts through the Canada-Ukraine Foundation. The first of these is the A Cappella Ensemble and the Jazz Combo doing a presentation of contemporary and standard repertoire performances, and more shows are listed at macewan.ca.
