Three people they have dead and others seven they have resulted woundsone of them from gravityin a fire at number 23 on Calle de Sant Joaquim de Santa Coloma de Gramenet (Barcelona), as reported by the City hall. The block of flats has three floors.
The Firefighters of the Generalitat have already extinguished the flames and the service has been activated social care CUESB to serve the people who reside in the property.
The notification to the Fire Department occurred at 04:29 hours and 10 ground crews have been displaced, the body reports in a statement.
Causes still unknown
Upon arrival, the firefighters have located the callsthe causes of which are unknown, which affected the counter room of the building, to the ground floor, as well as the second floor. According to sources of this body, they are investigating if the second fire is a consequence of the first or if they have different origins.
Evacuations to the Hospital
The SEM has also cared for four other people ; one of them, a 71-year-old man, discharged at the same scene. The other two, slightly injured, have been evacuated to the Hospital of the Holy Spirit, in Santa Coloma. It was a 31-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman. The SEM, in total, has displaced three command units, two Advanced Life Support units, three basic units and one Logistics Support unit.
Five Mossos d’Esquadra patrols have also been on the move, taking charge of legal procedures and the research of the causes of the fire, and members of the Local Police.
Block ventilation and revision
The fire has been completely extinguished at 04.53 hours. From that moment on, the Fire Brigade of the Generalitat have begun to air block and check the building. No structural damage due to the fire has been ruled out.
