They will close L1 of the Metro for remodeling

Line 1 of the Mexico City Metro Collective Transportation System (STC) will be comprehensively renovated and modernized for user safety.

The corresponding works, reported Guillermo Calderón, will be carried out from next July 9 and for 14 months, in two phases.

First, 12 stations will be closed, from Pantitlán to Salto del Agua, and then the remaining eight, from Balderas to Observatorio, whose rehabilitation stages will last eight and six months, respectively, specified the general director of the Metro.

Since 2014, during the administration in which Marcelo Ebrard was head of government of the country’s capital, rehabilitation work has been pending.

Andrés Lajous, local Mobility Secretary, reported that there will be a support service for the 300,000 daily users of the first 12 stations under renovation with 220 buses from the Passenger Transportation Network that will stop at each station.
