They will certify migrant workers for the US and Puerto Rico

Guadalajara, Jalisco. Through training and certification of labor skills, the National Association of Agrifood Councils of Mexico (CAM) collaborates in solving the migration problem both on the northern and southern borders of the country.

After installing a CAM headquarters in Florida, United States, last week, the Council detected “enormous areas of opportunity” to link agricultural workers from both Mexico and Central America, including Puerto Rico, the Economist told the national president of the CAM, Jacobo Cabrera Palos.

“It turns out that neither in the United States nor in Puerto Rico is there a labor force, not only agricultural workers, they lack professional, technical and production labor,” he commented.

He indicated that the Agrifood Councils of Mexico, through their organization CAM Academy, have signed agreements with the National College of Technical Professional Education (Conalep), the College of Bachelors (Cobach) and the College of the Southern Border, among other educational institutions. , for the development of job skills.

“Today it turns out that there is a request for specialized labor to recover the fields of Puerto Rico,” said Jacobo Cabrera.

The national leader of the CAM association stated that the objective both in Mexico and in the United States is to avoid intermediarism on the issue of workers.

“We are collaborating with states and municipalities so that they can, in principle, verify that decent work that is being promoted both in the United States and in Mexico through the federal Ministry of Labor, in order to dignify work, the issue of the wage gap and eliminate child labor in the countryside”, he stressed.

He shared that, with the installation of this organization in Florida, it will allow the development of the market on the East Coast of the United States for exporting producers from Mexico, since most of the agri-food export goes to California, while to the East Coast domestic products do not enter.
