The coordinator of advisers of the Attorney General’s Office of Mexico City (FGJCDMX), Ulises Lara, announced that elements carried out searches in various properties linked to Julio Cesar Serna Chavez, former Chief of Cabinet of Miguel Angel Mancera and former general coordinator of the Central de Abasto (Ceda) of Mexico City, who is in custody accused of illicit enrichment.

“This morning, at approximately 7:00 a.m., searches requested and obtained by the prosecution were carried out in three properties linked to Julio César N, who probably used the public commissions he carried out to increase his assets in an unjustified manner and without proving his legitimacy. provenance, ”he said.

In a message to the media, the also spokesperson for the FGJCDMX indicated that the searches were carried out in a property of the Mayor Magdalena Contreras and two more in the Mayor Benito Juárez.

On November 29, a control judge of Mexico City issued preventive detention and ordered the freezing of accounts to Julio Cesar Serna Chavez, who is imprisoned in the North Prison during the time of the complementary investigation.

The detainee is related to the alleged sale and illegal allocation of warehouses in the Central de Abasto de Iztapalapa, in addition that his expenses do not correspond to his income and the properties he acquired when he was a public servant were not registered in his patrimonial declaration.



Julio César Serna, once general coordinator of the Cabinet of the Headquarters of the Government of Mexico City, was disqualified in September 2019 by the Office of the Comptroller for a period of 10 years, together with two other public servants, for incurring in irregularities in the sale and illegal allocation of warehouses in the Ceda.

According to FGJCDMX, the three former officials identified unused warehouses of the Central de Abastos and assigned them to be sold immediately.

The former capital official was located five properties and a parking lot located in the Mayor Álvaro Obregón that are not contemplated in their patrimonial declarations. In addition, according to the spokesman for the Prosecutor’s Office, Ulises Lara, he has a business name (a company) and 14 other properties that are not included in his declarations of interests.
