They reinforce security in tourist destinations in Jalisco


Guadalajara, Jalisco. During the current vacation period, the nine Magic towns that Jalisco has, and those that make up the Pilgrim’s route that receives a significant amount of religious tourism during Holy Days, have a special security operation.

The Secretary of State Security (SSE) maintains a presence in the municipalities of Mazamitla, Talpa de Allende, Mascota, Tapalpa, Jocotepec and Chapala.

In addition, at the main highway entrances of the Guadalajara Metropolitan Area (AMG), mobile command centers were installed in which State police and highway police participate to offer help or guidance in the event of any type of road need.

So far in the holiday period, there have only been minor incidents; State Police officers have provided support with transfers to safe points and hydration to twenty faithful who travel the pilgrim route, since surveillance tours are maintained on the roads.

The nine Magical Towns of Jalisco are: Tapalpa, Tequila, Mazamitla, San Sebastián del Oeste, Lagos de Moreno, Mascota, Talpa de Allende, Tlaquepaque and Ajijic. Together, they contribute 11.2% of the state tourism GDP and generate 7,751 jobs in the sector.
