They maintain environmental contingency in the Valley of Mexico for this Saturday

The Environmental Commission of the Megalopolis held this Saturday morning the Atmospheric environmental contingency phase 1 by ozone in the Metropolitan Zone of the Valley of Mexico.

In its report at 10:00 am, the CAMe reiterated that the measure is in order to protect the health of the population from exposure to high levels of contamination.

The Atmospheric Monitoring System of Mexico City indicated that the weather conditions for this Saturday will continue to cause poor dispersion of ozone and its precursors.

The CaMe recalled that the high pressure system persists that will generate moderate to strong atmospheric stability, maximum temperatures of up to 30 degrees, weak wind intensity for most of the day, in addition to intense and continuous solar radiation.

These factors will lead to the stagnation of pollutants and the formation of ozone which will cause poor to very poor air quality.

From 3:00 p.m. on Friday, the environmental contingency was activated in the Valley of Mexico.

The Environmental Commission reminded the population to avoid exercising outdoors between 1:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m., and specified that it will be attentive to the quality of the air and the evolution of weather conditions and will report on the actions to be followed at 3:00 p.m. :00 hours.
