They arrest the wife of El Mencho, leader of the CJNG

Rosalinda González Valencia, wife of the leader of the Jalisco Nueva Generación Cartel (CJNG), Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes, who had already been arrested in May 2018, was apprehended by elements of the Mexican Army accused of organized crime.

The re-apprehension of Rosalinda González Valencia in Mexico occurred a few days after the United States government obtained the extradition from Brazil of José González Valencia, Rosalinda’s brother and brother-in-law of Nemesio Oseguera el Mencho.

The Secretariat of National Defense (Sedena) reported that on November 15, Mexican Army personnel, in collaboration with the Attorney General’s Office (FGR) and the National Intelligence Center (CNI), completed an arrest warrant in against Rosalinda González for various crimes. He is related to the illicit financial operation of the Jalisco Nueva Generación Cartel.

The arrest occurred through intelligence activities by elements of the Mexican Army in the municipality of Zapopan, Jalisco.

The Sedena considered that the re-apprehension of the wife of the number one of the CJNG represents “a significant blow to the financial structure of organized crime in the state of Jalisco.”

The detainee was placed at the disposal of the competent judicial authorities at the Federal Center for Social Readaptation No. 16 for Women in the state of Morelos, located in Coatlán del Río.

“This activity was carried out with strict adherence to the rule of law and with full respect for Human Rights. With actions like these, the Mexican Army and Air Force reaffirm their commitment to ensure and safeguard the well-being of citizens, working in coordination with authorities of the three levels of government to guarantee the peace and security of Mexicans, ”it was stated.
