Ana Navarro and Sunny Hostin were asked to leave the stage just before a live interview with US Vice President Kamala Harris on Friday.

Co-host Joy Behar explained the situation to viewers and audience members after a period of confusion on set, and Harris was taken to an isolated area of ​​the television studio, where she conducted her interview remotely.

But Hostin and Navarro were cleared to return to The View over the weekend after what were called false positive COVID-19 tests.

On Monday’s show, Hostin and Navarro detailed the drama of the set.

“It was really awkward that my results were released publicly before I knew what was going on, before they were verified, before I was tested over and over again,” Hostin said. “And there were ramifications in real life when things like that happen.”

She revealed that her husband, a surgeon, had to be taken out of the operating room “because God forbid he is operating on someone and he is COVID positive.” Officials at his son’s school also had to be notified and his parents had to be evaluated.

Emotional Hostin added: “This is the kind of real-life thing that was happening, and for me it was particularly triggering, because not long ago I delivered the eulogy at my father-in-law’s funeral. So you can imagine how I felt, thinking that I could possibly be positive for COVID, and my family could experience another loss, a loss that I don’t think my husband could handle.

“So I was relieved, to say the least, to find out I was COVID negative, and was always reassured that I am fully vaccinated. And so even if he was COVID positive, he was convinced that he would probably be fine. “
