Stingers quarterback Oliver Roy first threw a 15-yard throw to Jeremy Murphy to close the lead to four points. On the visitors’ next offensive streak, the hub completed a five-yard pass to Vince Alessandrini to give his team the lead for good.

Roy finally finished his game with 27 successful passes on 35 attempts, for 323 yards. He also had four runs that resulted in a major, in addition to running the ball himself four times, amassing 42 yards. His favorite target was without a doubt Murphy, who caught nine balls for 95 yards, in addition to crossing the end zone on two occasions.

In the opposing camp, quarterback Jonathan Sénécal was making his second start with the Carabins. He did slightly less well than his first outing, completing 21 of his 37 stints for 283 yards. He was also the victim of an interception in the fourth quarter as his team tried to come from behind. Nonetheless, he joined two receivers in the end zone, including Hassane Dosso on one occasion, who caught seven runs for 112 yards.

The Carabins’ special teams also greatly helped their cause, despite the loss. Marco Iadeluca’s men recovered their own punt in the third quarter and brought it back into the opposing end zone.

The two teams thus each have one victory and one defeat after two meetings.

For their next game, the Carabins will travel to Quebec City on September 18 to face the Rouge et Or. For their part, the Stingers will face the McGill University Redbirds at Percival-Molson Stadium.

This means that the Rouge et Or is the only undefeated team in the Quebec Student Sport Network. Glen Constantin’s men will have to compete against the Vert et Or of the University of Sherbrooke on Saturday before welcoming the Carabins.
