The propagation speed (Rt) of the ómicron coronavirus has fallen in Catalonia until 0.63 -every 100 infected infect an average of 63 people-, which is the lowest in the two years of the pandemicexceeding the 0.64 that was registered on April 29, 2020, after the harsh confinement of the first wave.
This reduction in the speed of transmission of the virus has caused that in the last seven days they have been diagnosed 108,029 cases of covidhalf what it was 15 days ago, although 223 people still die in Catalonia from covid per week, an average of 32 a day.

According to data updated this Monday by the Department of Health, there are 2,816 people admitted by covid in hospitals, 69 more than yesterday, of which 394, six less than the day before, are seriously ill in the ICU, 286 of them intubated and 17 with ECMO (extracorporeal respiration), the same number of serious as there were on 26 from December
