The Covid-19 infections continue to rise in Catalonia, with 2,177 more confirmed cases than last Friday, but without yet compromising the capacity of hospitals, where there are three more people in the ICU (88 in total), according to data provided this Sunday by the Ministry of Health.
The number of deaths since the beginning of the pandemic in March 2020 amounts to 24,049, four more than those notified last Friday, since yesterday, Saturday, Health did not give the daily data of the pandemic due to technical problems.
In all Catalan hospitals there are, today, 367 people admitted for covid-19, 13 more than on Friday, and the accumulated confirmed cases amount to 1,015,026, 2,177 more.
The primary care services treated a total of 6,553 covid patients last Friday and yesterday, Saturday, 1,590, while vaccination remains stagnant in 74.5% of the Catalan population as a whole, 83.6% yes people from the age of 12 are counted. The positivity -the percentage of CRP and TA with a positive result- is 2.93%, 21 hundredths more than on Friday, a sustained growth for four weeks, although still below 5%, which is the percentage established by the World Health Organization (WHO) to consider an epidemic under control.
Only four regions at low risk
By counties, those that have a higher risk of regrowth today are the Garrigues (581), Ripollès (544), Garrotxa (419), Alt Urgell (381), Alt Penedès (272), Urgell (248), Segarra (228 ), Segrià (215), Bages (212) and Pla de l’Estany (207). Only four counties are at low risk: Alta Ribagorça, Solsonès, Ribera d’Ebre and Alt Camp.
The region of Barcelonès, the most populated, today has an EPG of 127 points, 27 points more than on Friday, already at high risk, a 7-day cumulative incidence of 42 cases per 100,000 inhabitants and an Rt of 1.95, five hundredths more than the last day with data.
By municipalities, those with the worst EPG are Sant Vicenç dels Horts (826), Olesa de Montserrat (631), Vilafant (526), Vilafranca del Penedès (490), Sant Cugat del Vallès (482), Olot (369) , Pineda de Mar (304), Sant Just Desvern (298), Barberà del Vallès (274), Igualada (272), Manresa (269) and Vilassar de Mar and Canet de Mar (257).
