The PSOE withdraws the amendment that sought to promote Delgado when he left the Prosecutor’s Office


The PSOE has decided to withdraw This Tuesday, after verifying a lack of support, the amendment that was registered last March in Congress to promote to a Chamber prosecutor in the Supreme Court whoever leaves the State Attorney General’s Office, a modification that was interpreted as an attempt to reward the former minister Dolores Delgado when you leave your current position.

The presentation of this amendment has already raised widespread criticism in the rest of the forces of Congressnot only from the opposition of PP, Vox and Ciudadanos, but even from the minority partner of the Government, United We Can, and several parliamentary allies.

And not only was the substance of the proposal reproached, but also the forms, since the amendment was presented without announcing it and taking advantage of the parliamentary processing of a reform of the Bankruptcy Law.

And this Tuesday, taking advantage of the fact that the paper in charge of reforming the Bankruptcy Law was meeting, the PSOE has announced that it was withdrawing its controversial amendment, once it was verified that I had no support to get ahead.

This was recognized at a press conference by the spokesman for the Socialist Group, Héctor Gómez. “After speaking with the groups and seeing their positions, we have chosen to withdraw it.
