The municipality of Escobedo seeks to micro-zonify land uses: Andrés Mijes

Monterey, NL. Escobedo launched the Industrial District Partial Plan, which aims to order urban growth to enhance its logistics and industrial vocation and give certainty to investors, so that land use is respected, said Mayor Andrés Mijes Llovera.

He explained that the zoning of a polygon that includes 3,000 hectares was made, in which the land uses will be micro-zoned.

“We are going to give investors certainty, so that a mayor does not come and say, now I am going to make a use of residential land; this has already happened, they install a subdivision next to a company, (the inhabitants) complain about the noise and the one that has to go is the company”, he said at the end of the laying of the first stone of a new The Home store depot.

The Industrial District Partial Plan is located on the Northeast bypass, and will be aligned with the municipal planning instruments for the 2021-2024 period.

“The municipality also has to be a promoter of development. And what we want is that with the Industrial District, economic activity accelerates and citizens have better incomes. If they have better income, they have a better standard of living (…), we are creating jobs, and with this we create opportunities”.

Investments keep coming to Escobedo: Amazon is installing a 100,000-square-meter warehouse for a Distribution Center; The Home Depot will build a store with its Distribution and Logistics Center, which is the largest in Mexico, the official emphasized.

Companies such as Hershey’s, Barry Callebaut, HEB Cedis, the assembler Navistar, Vynmsa, Hellermann Tyton, Arcelor Mittal and Mattel, which will be the second most important toy Hub of the world, he stressed.

The municipal president highlighted that the Chamber of the Transformation Industry of Nuevo León, commented that Escobedo is the city council with the best manufacturing salary in the state.
