The Mossos are investigating whether an old man found dead in his home in Barcelona was murdered

The Mossos d’Esquadra have opened an investigation to clarify the causes of the death of an 80-year-old man found dead last midnight at his house in the Les Corts neighborhood in Barcelona to determine if he was murdered or if the victim suffered a home accident, since the corpse showed signs of violence that could be compatible with both circumstances.

Sources from the Mossos and the Barcelona Urban Guard have informed EFE that the emergency teams have been alerted at 12:19 pm last night by a neighbor on Marqués de Sentmenat street about the fact that there was light on the victim’s home, but no one answered when the home was called.

Police officers from the Urban Guard and the Barcelona Firefighters have traveled to the site, and once they have opened the door, they have found the corpse of the old man who resided in the house.

The aforementioned sources have explained that the investigators are waiting for an autopsy to be performed on the body to determine the specific cause of the man’s death. In the event of an accident, the proceedings would be archived. In another case, the police investigations would properly begin.
