The details in both their garments and their jewelry are the perfect complement for those who have a way of dressing with basic garments but who like detail. For example: black pants with simulated legs in the fabric, earrings that make a circle of found legs or jackets also called in the world of fashion “suits” with details of cuts as well as dresses with metallic inlays.

Alejandra de Coss’ goal is to make designs with a new definition of luxury and this goes hand in hand with the story that each garment or accessory tells at first glance. Femininity, history and sensuality are always present.

“We like to tell a story with each product, making pieces that start a conversation” he writes in the description of his brand on the page where he exhibits his products.

In the most recent edition of Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Mexico that took place in April, Alejandra de Coss’s firm once again took to the catwalks with its collection inspired by the work of the French artist, painter and sculptor, Jean Dubuffet, iconic for being the creator of Art Brut (raw art). Dubuffet always showed his works outside the traditional aesthetic norms, full of surrealist overtones and nuanced with humor and irony.

The catwalk that she presented on the 40th floor of the Sofitel hotel consisted of 13 exits in which she highlighted feminine beauty far removed from the traditional standard of what we know as beauty.

In an interview for The EconomistAlejandra de Coss told us that “National firms are a space for growth, an increasingly interesting mix of styles that are gradually moving away from the stereotype of Latin American fashion.”

The materials he uses for his timeless collections are: wool blends, recycled cotton and deadstock fabrics, as it is known in the industry, but they are fabrics that have been left in the workshop and are gradually finding use.

The artist and designer makes applications of patches, knitted fabrics and hand-woven fabrics to complement the proposals that are mostly blazers or jackets, shirts, pleated pants, knitted dresses and large-cut dress sets that in the world of fashion are names court oversized.

De Coss sells its clothing and jewelry collections in Mexico through its page and goes hand in hand with presentations with Colectivo Diseño Mexicano, a group of designers that was born to support and strengthen the national fashion industry as a team.

In the United States, France, Norway and 21 countries in Europe, de Coss distributes its clothing and accessories through the online fashion store Zalando and through Not Just a Label, an international initiative that supports independent design and is also one of the the largest e-retailers in Europe.

The fashion industry journey for Alejandra de Coss began in 2017, although the designer has always been interested and passionate about creating the textile, cultural and accessories industry.

For Alejandra de Coss, her second presentation at Mexican fashion week “represents an opportunity for projection so that they know my work. My dream as a designer is to be able to continue doing what I do, connect with more people in more places, inside and outside of Mexico. Knowing that someone who doesn’t know me identified with one of my pieces,” she said.

His catwalk was one of the most interesting collections, De Coss stood out from all the fashion week proposals for presenting unconventional but wearable clothes. It is clothes and accessories that you can mix and make many proposals for all kinds of events, from a formal work appointment to a gala dinner.

The simplicity of the garments, the comfort and lightness of the fabrics that could be perceived from meters away are very important and their collection is completely timeless. The expressions among those attending his catwalk more than once expressed I want it!, and referred to the jackets and pants so simple but that are undoubtedly the object of desire among fashion connoisseurs.
