Elegant dresses, sober suits, glitter and heels highlight the reunion of Catalan cinema with the first ‘normal’ gala after the restrictions imposed by the pandemic last year

Catalan cinema returns to step on the red carpet. The 14th edition of the Gaudí Awards is being held for the first time in the Sala Oval of the Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya.

‘The Border Laws’, by Daniel Monzón, with 13 nominations; ‘El ventre del mar’, by Agustí Villaronga, with 12, and ‘Libertad’, by Clara Roquet, with 11, start as favourites. For the second year the women finalists outnumber the men; 54% vs. 46%.
