The Petitions Committee of the European Parliamenteo will debate this Monday the Use of Spanish in the Catalan schoolin a citizen lawsuit defended by the group Assembly for a Bilingual School.

its president, Ana Losada, will argue before the European Parliament that there is a “discrimination against Spanish speakers in the Catalan educational system” and the MEPs will discuss the possibility of a education in Catalan and Spanish, in equal parts.

The Assembly for a Bilingual School also asks that public or concerted centers offer the teaching in both languages ​​instead of insisting on linguistic immersion in Catalan.
