The EU is not closed to recognizing more vaccines: ambassador

Mexico City. The European Union (EU) will analyze new measures to deal with the omicron variant, such as making vaccination mandatory and the early closure of public and leisure places, reported the ambassador of the representation of the European Union in Mexico, Gautier Mignot.

He assured that the EU is not closed to recognizing more vaccines so that the mobility of tourists is not affected, as is the case of those vaccinated with Sputnik. In addition, the production of vaccines continues to increase.

“The problem with the Sputnik vaccine is that they have never submitted an application for approval by the European Medicines Agency, obviously without application there can be no approval,” he told the media.

Electrical reform

Regarding the electricity reform proposed in Mexico, the European Union hopes that the investments that Europeans have made “in good faith” in our country will be respected and that the Paris Agreement will also be respected.

The French-born diplomat who arrived at the representation eight months ago, acknowledged that there is uncertainty about the issue since the investment of European companies in the sector amounts to 13,000 million dollars.
