The Edomex materialized more than 1,000 million pesos in new projects

In the first three months of 2022, more than 1,000 million pesos have been made in investments for the State of Mexico in sectors such as logistics development, educational services, pharmaceuticals, chemical and automotive products, according to the local Council of Chambers and Business Associations (Concaem).

The president of the Concaem, Gilberto Sauza Martínez, explained that the raising of national and international capital is due to a state plan to attract investment, where the axes have been the strengthening of logistics to meet the demand of internal consumption and the creation of value chains (fostering the development of suppliers and streamlining operations in terms of merchandise distribution).

“From Concaem, one of the fundamental efforts in recent years has been to promote the State of Mexico as the best place for investment in the country. Only last year it was possible to materialize projects in the automotive field, the development of industrial parks and in the chemical-pharmaceutical sector”, he deepened, also specifying that the public sector participates in this plan.

At the same time, the pandemic led to the demand for domestic consumption. “The economic conditions that the Covid-19 pandemic has brought with it make it necessary to have an aggressive recovery and investment plan for the State of Mexico, which allows jobs to be recovered and new capital to be attracted.”

With the start of projects, it is sought that in 2022 the arrival of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) exceeds that registered in 2021 and reaches pre-pandemic levels.

Precisely, the entity closed last year with 1,624.8 million dollars of FDI, while in 2020 it was 2,369.2 million and in 2019 (year without pandemic) 2,931.5 million, according to the Federal Ministry of Economy.

“The coordinated work with the authorities has allowed the State of Mexico to stand out, for which the results are expected to be better during the following months and that with this we can speak of a true economic recovery of the entity,” he said.

The businessman stressed that the importance of capturing investments and the arrival of anchor projects in the Mexican territory allows the generation of formal labor sources.
