Before the announcement of the water crisis in the state, due to lack of rain, the population rushed to buy buckets, boats and water tanks to store the vital liquid.
This demand accelerated further, after the head of Monterrey Water and Drainage Services, Juan Ignacio Barragán, reported that starting this Tuesday, March 22, there will be a normal supply of water between 5 and 9 in the morning. However, one day a week, the supply will be limited to a minimum during the rest of the day, for this, the Metropolitan Area was divided into seven sectors.
That caused water tank distributors to have problems with inventory, and sometimes the manufacturing company takes up to 15 to 20 days to restock, said Rodríguez Lozano.
He said that they have their warehouse in downtown Monterrey, however they are receiving buyers from all over the state.
Currently the company Rotoplas is sending molds from other plants to the one in Monterrey, to double production in the state, said the manager.
In terms of prices, for example, a 1,100-liter water tank that is for a home costs around 3,400 pesos, but there are also 600-liter, 750-liter and larger capacity water tanks for companies.
However, the cost of the water tank must be added to the material if the dwelling does not have preparation to install the water tank, plus the labor of a plumber that costs around 1,000 pesos.
