The football team played its first game at the school’s new 1,800-seat multipurpose stadium last week in a 36-14 loss to Central Washington. They were supposed to have another contest there, taking on the Texas Permian Basin next Saturday, but that game was canceled due to concerns about border restrictions linked to the COVID-19 pandemic.

SFU was down 7-0 at the half against Western Oregon. They went 14-7 in the third quarter when quarterback Justin Seiber connected with Dallas Dixon for a 45-yard major. Dixon is another one of those twelve older people.

Western Oregon (1-3 overall, 1-0 GNAC) finished with 412 total yards, highlighted by 330 rushing yards. Omari Land led Western Oregon with 212 rushing yards on 25 carries. He had a couple of touchdowns.

Seiber was 19 of 33 for 202 yards with that touchdown and no interceptions in the losing cause.

The COVID-19 pandemic ended SFU’s 2020 season. They were 1-9 in 2019.
