The CUP asks for a referendum again but disassociates it from the budgets

The Govern will approve the budgets in the Executive Council on November 9 without the support of the CUP guaranteed. In fact, the anti-capitalists warn that for now they are not in a position to give up their nine votes for the Catalan accounts because the figures do not convince them and the approach of the legislature does not show a “shift to the left.”

The numbers

As for the concrete figures, the CUP regrets that in housing only an investment of 600 million euros is foreseen -the agreement for the investiture set 1,000 million euros in this matter- and that hiring of health personnel is not contemplated -although 25% of the health budget is ensured for primary care. However, 70 million euros are reserved for the free P2, 60 million euros to support policies for young people ex-tutelage by the Generalitat and 800,000 euros to the consultation on the candidacy of the Winter Olympic Games.

Where there is no margin for negotiation it is in taxation. Giró closed the door to a tax increase, but the ‘cuperos’ continue to demand the creation of a new section of personal income tax – from 60,000 euros per year and up to 90,000 euros of + 0.5% – and lower the limit to the people exempted from paying the wealth tax, of 500,000 to 300,000 euros, as well as taxing “much more” on assets exceeding 10 million euros of assets.

Cs and PPC, against Illa

On the part of the ‘comuns’, the deputy David cid has reiterated the predisposition of his party to sit down to negotiate the accounts, although he has slipped that there are elements of the accompanying law that “concern” them: “We need to put all the resources.
