The CDRs return to the streets after the Diada: “They want us to stay at home but it is the direct fight”

The attacks perpetrated during the Diada against the Higher Headquarters of the National Police in Vía Laietana, in the center of Barcelona, ​​have highlighted the return of violent activity to the streets of Barcelona. An activity, according to police sources reveal to EL ESPAÑOL, which would again be led by the Committees for the Defense of the Republic (CDR).

“They already warned that from the 11th there would be an exponential growth of violence until October 1 and then until October 14,” police sources point out. So it has been for the moment.

As Saturday’s demonstration passed by the police fort in the center of Barcelona, ​​the riots multiplied. That was the only source of tension for a Diada without notable incidents.

Two people were arrested on charges of throw objects, paint, smoke cans, fences, and empty a fire extinguisher against the Mossos that guarded the Headquarters building. Meanwhile, the CDRs, as this newspaper has been able to verify, celebrate what happened on their internal channels and warn of new mobilizations for the next few days, in which the anniversary of 1-O is approaching again.

“The success of yesterday’s Diada is not just a spark in the dark: direct action is here to stay “, they explain to their puppies from the committees. “This is what they want: that we stop going out into the streets. The government, the media and hundreds of well-to-do tweeters skillfully used to promote demobilization and for us to stay at home. But if we don’t stop, the fight continues.” .

“Tonight they found us smiling and clandestine,” they say from the platform. “We have come to win.” The agents, due to the aggressiveness of the attacks, had no choice but to take refuge behind their shields on more than one occasion. For this reason, after eight o’clock in the afternoon they have requested reinforcements of more riot control vans to contain the violent ones.

A team of anti-riot agents from the Mossos d’Esquadra, on foot and in vans, traveled to Via Laietana in the middle of the afternoon to guard the building against the violent attitude of the hooded men.

“The pardons did not appease their violence”

From the Unified Police Union (SUP) they condemn the new assault on the police building and insist, once again, that the autonomous community be declared as a Special Singularity Zone (ZES) to protect the police from pro-independence harassment. “Only in this way will it be possible to stop the departure of police officers to other less conflictive destinations, protect them and their families from the discrimination they suffer on a daily basis on the part of the independentistas and guarantee the right to the security and the coexistence of all the Catalan citizenship “.

“The reality is stubborn and shows us that the pardons have not served to appease the independence violence. Once again the violent have staged the harassment of the National Police in this autonomous community, besieging the Higher Headquarters of Catalonia with little opposition,” says his spokesperson, Carlos Morales.

The celebration of the Diada has once again served as an excuse, he explains, “for hundreds of violent people to continue their task of harassing and discriminating against national police officers in the face of a notable lack of foresight on the part of the authorities.”

The Federal Union of Police (UFP) has also denounced the “passivity” of the Government and the Minister of the Interior, Fernando Grande-Marlaska, in view of attacks by independence groups against the Headquarters of the National Police in Barcelona, ​​what they consider an attack on the institutions of the State.

No planning

The officers of the headquarters assure that there was no previous plan prepared to face the protests and street violence that the CDR had already warned would take place once again in the large avenues of Barcelona. “Nothing at all”. No internal instructions and no specific device.

“They have understood that it is an isolated attack on a police center, knowing how they know that this goes beyond a simple attack. The institutions of the State are in danger in Catalonia and today more than ever the forceful reaction of the Government and the Minister of the Interior, “they claim in the statement.
