He pointed out that the gangs are stealing not only finished garments, but also shipments of cotton and thread that they are selling on the black market.
He indicated that the cases have occurred in the vicinity of the Arco Norte, the highway Mexico-Puebla, as well as the one that goes to Tehuacán, obligatory steps for the industries, since the raw material arrives from the north of the country and from the United States.
He mentioned that it is in the hands of the authorities to stop crimes, especially at night because they are at the mercy of criminal gangs that use their own technology to take trucks that carry GPS, since they use radar jammers to have time to subtract the merchandise and then abandon units on desolate roads.
“For a businessman losing a shipment of cotton that has a value of just over 1 million 200,000 pesos, is not something minor, because it affects its production chain and its customers who impose high penalties”, he deepened.
Couttolenc López said that trucks loaded with raw material from bales of cotton, fibers, threads, fabrics, which are used to make different products or finished garments are what are most lost in a robbery.
“The amounts are large, if a Torton is stolen, you can charge it from 600,000 to 800,000 pesos in fabrics, but if you go to garments the value is much higher, which is where there is a significant impact, of which a company it takes up to half a year to recover, because they produce by order for one season of the year ”, he explained.
The textile companies They cannot continue to lose with these thefts, since jobs are compromised in the long run if there are no secure earnings and with a robbery it is difficult to recover in a month, since it costs to recover that money with new production, he insisted.

He pointed out that the federal authorities as those responsible for the highways must heed the call of businessmen in general about increasing vigilance in sections identified as risky.
