Tele-radar | Our TV suggestions of the week

Every week, The Press scan the TV offering to identify four titles to watch.

The novelty : Baby Reindeer

We saw this British miniseries sitting at the top of the Netflix charts for a good week before taking a look. And today, we regret having waited all this time. Inspired by a real-life event, Baby Reindeer (in French, My little reindeer) tells the story of a failed comedian (Richard Gadd) who falls into the hands of a stalker, a real one. Beneath her appearance as a harmless bon vivant with a contagious laugh, Martha (Jessica Gunning, a revelation) hides a truly terrifying nature. We’re talking about a lecherous magpie, borderline psychopath, who turns his existence upside down, and above all… who comments on his old photos from 2009 on Facebook. The horror ! Even as a viewer, we are suffocated.

The surprise : So goes Manu

Cindy Charles (Manuela), Amadou Madani Tall (Aiden) and Maïka Ferron (Andréa) in So goes Manu

The first season ofSo goes Manu came under our radar in 2021, when it was released on TV5Unis.ca. Written, directed and produced by Josiane Blanc, it told the story of a Franco-Ontarian family threatened with renoviction. Spoiler: The homebuilder got what he wanted, and Manuela (Cindy Charles), her mother (Sandra Dorélas) and her little brother (Jamaal Mansaray) moved out of their Toronto apartment and into suburban Oak Ridge. . Previously offered on Unis TV, this suite of eight episodes arrives on TFO.org this week. It shows how the little family tries to meet this new challenge. A friendly dramatic comedy that addresses very real social issues.

The safe bet: If we still loved each other

PHOTO PROVIDED BY TVA

Louise Sigouin in If we still loved each other

This docureality still fascinates us, especially in this less forced formula, which examines the problematic dynamics of pre-existing couples. We bow to these brave couples who agree to empty their bags not only in front of Louise Sigouin, but also in front of hundreds of thousands of viewers. The season starts strong with Stéphanie and Keven, both 35 years old. Together since high school, they are going through a major crisis: the man cheated on the woman with… her best friend. It’s guaranteed, their story will provoke a reaction. The first episode also focuses on Christelle (39 years old) and Gino (47 years old), who must learn to communicate. The word is weak.

The return : Question of judgment

PHOTO PROVIDED BY RADIO-CANADA

Pierre Hébert hosts Question of judgment.

Pierre Hébert takes the time slot of STAT for the summer with Question of judgment, its quiz in which public figures are confronted with the image they project. This show (which we rarely miss) is capable of the best (when the mayonnaise sets between the guests, we can laugh loudly and for a long time) as well as the worst (when the audience participants don’t have much intelligent to say to justify their choices, we shudder with unease). This fourth season starts with Mitsou, Jessica Barker, Philippe Laprise, Dave Morissette, Guy Jodoin, Mani Soleymanlou, Josée Deschênes and Émilie Bibeau. And as it is a special artists week, Patricia Paquin, Vincent Bolduc, Léane Labrèche-Dor and Christian Bégin play the competitors.

ICI Télé, Monday to Thursday at 7 p.m.
