Teen in critical condition after Ahuntsic-Cartierville shooting

A 17-year-old man was in critical but stable condition Wednesday morning after being shot Tuesday night in the Ahuntsic-Cartierville district of Montreal.

Montreal police were informed of the incident after a 911 call around 10:15 p.m.

An investigation found that the victim was walking with two friends on Laurentien Blvd. when the attacker approached them on foot from Périnault Street, opened fire and then fled.

The victim suffered a gunshot wound to the upper body. His colleagues were not injured.

A crime scene was set up at the scene of the attack, a canine unit was deployed and several spent cartridge casings were found nearby.

Investigators will question the victim’s companions. No arrests had been reported early Wednesday morning.
