Tax revenues increase 0.7% in I. Quarter, advances AMLO


As of last March 4, in the first quarter of the year tax revenues would reach an amount of 677,109 million pesos, a figure that in real terms is 0.7% above the 627,030 million pesos collected between January and March 2021.

In his usual press conference at the National Palace, President Andrés Manuel López Obrador showed a table with information from the Tax Administration Service (SAT) of the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit (SHCP) on the monitoring of federal government income from January 1 to March 4.

“So, I don’t know if you have the data there. Let’s see. Yes, look. Despite (…), January-March of last year, 745,000 million pesos; January-March of this year, 811,000, like 60,000 million more, gives us a 1.5 increase in real terms, (still with preliminary figures) but with higher inflation.

“So, well, we’re doing well, we don’t have financing problems…” he said.

According to the preliminary information presented by the Mexican president, the income of the federal government –tax and non-tax– reached 811,482 million pesos in the first quarter of the year, a figure 1.5% higher than the 745,807 million pesos received in the same period. from last year.

Non-tax revenues amounted to 134,373 million pesos, a figure 5.5% higher than last year (118,777 million pesos).

In the January-February two-month period, tax revenues totaled 658.271 million pesos and non-tax revenues 91.314 million pesos; in March 18,838 million pesos tax and non-tax 43,058 million pesos.

During the first quarter of the year, income from Income Tax reached 380,520 million pesos, a figure 10.7% higher than that of 2021; for Value Added Tax, 201,611 million pesos –7.3% less than last year–, and 62,402 million pesos, for Special Tax on Production and Services, 30.3% less than in 2021.

While income from Foreign Trade totaled 16,065 million pesos, 37.2% more than in the same period of 2021.
