Sustainable Kingston Welcomes Red Squirrel Conservation Services

Kingston, ON (December 1, 2021) Red Squirrel Conservation Services and Sustainable Kingston have teamed up
forces on an asset transfer, which will broaden the scope of the organization and help further reduce
greenhouse gas emissions throughout southeastern Ontario.

Continuing to operate under the name Sustainable Kingston, the recently expanded organization
now providing home energy assessments and supporting Canada Greener Homes grant enrollment
as well as the Enbridge Home Efficiency Rebate. These services will be added to Sustainable Kingston’s
list as it continues to provide community programming that has helped make the organization a
household name, including sustainably.eco, the Kingston Climate Change Symposium, the Kingston
Frontenac Housing Corporation’s Rain Garden Project and the Sustainable Kingston Awards.

Matt Benson, President of Sustainable Kingston, is excited about the community’s potential
impact that can be achieved as a result of this asset transfer. “By expanding our services to more

Sustainable Kingston is also pleased to announce that Cedric Pepelea, who served as Executive
Director of Red Squirrel, has accepted a position as the new Chief Operating Officer of Sustainable Kingston
Official.

Through the Home Energy Audit program, Sustainable Kingston will continue to serve Red Squirrel’s
