Suspect in Vaughan’s burglary claimed to have delivered food: Police – Toronto | The Canadian News

York Regional Police say they are looking for three suspects after a home invasion in Vaughan last month.

Police said in a news release that on November 26, officers received a report of a home invasion that took place the night before around 8:30 p.m. on Thomas Cook Avenue in the Bathurst Street area and Lebovic Campus Drive.

The statement said that the owner of the house was traveling and had a friend who was checking on her cat.

Her friend said a suspect knocked on the door and said she had a food delivery.

But when the door was opened, two suspicious men forced their way into the home, police said. The suspects allegedly searched the residence and “stole a number of items.”

Police said the suspects were described as between 25 and 30 years old and the victim believed one had a weapon.

Investigators are also looking to speak to a possible witness.

Police said the witness went to the Hillcrest Mall in Richmond Hill on November 30 and turned in a lost cell phone and a set of keys at a Bell store around 1:40 p.m.

“Investigators would like to obtain the details on where these items were found prior to delivering them,” the statement said.

“This witness is urged to contact the investigators.”
