Suspect Arrested in Connection with TTC Elevator Vandalism – Toronto | The Canadian News

The TTC says officers made an arrest in connection with the vandalism of 11 elevators at TTC subway stations last week.

“Thanks to excellent groundwork by TTC special agents yesterday, a suspect in the recent wave of elevator vandalism was arrested without incident and turned over to Toronto police,” TTC spokesman Stuart Green tweeted Monday.

On Wednesday, the transit agency said elevators were damaged at several subway stations and accessibility was temporarily impaired.

Late on Thursday, all the elevators were back in service after some temporary repairs that included the use of plywood.

Originally, the TTC said ten elevators were vandalized Wednesday, but one more elevator was later found to be damaged the next day.

The TTC said the suspect, who was not identified, faces 10 charges brought by Toronto police.

Plywood is used as a temporary solution.
