Surrey RCMP searches for married couple missing since Halloween

The Surrey RCMP is searching for a missing couple since Halloween.

In a prepared statement, RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Vanessa Munn said Matthew Sawatzky, 23, and Janaye Sawatzky, 22, were last seen at a home in the 14500 block of 57A Avenue on October 31 at 9 a.m.

“The family and police have not been able to contact Matthew or Janaye and are very concerned for their well-being as this is out of place,” Munn said.

Matthew is Caucasian, 5’10, 170 pounds with brown hair, hazel eyes and a beard.

Janaye (née Sears) is Caucasian, 5’4, 120 pounds, with blonde hair and hazel eyes. He has several tattoos, the most visible of which are mountains on the inside of his left wrist.

The couple are believed to be traveling in a 2021 black Dodge Ram with British Columbia registration RS0114.

Anyone with information that can help locate the couple should contact the Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502.
