Last night, the city of Grande Prairie released unofficial election results in the race for the public school board and the separate school board trustee.

Incumbents Paulette Kurylo, Andre Ouellette, Rob Martin and Joan Nellis will remain on the school board as trustees for the next four years.

Newcomers Ray Buziak and Chris Johnston will join the board of directors after winning their first term in yesterday’s election. Donna Koch will also join as the elected trustee of the Grande Prairie Public School District (GPPSD).

In the race for an independent trustee of the school board, incumbents Michael Ouellette and Michelle Boisvert will retain their seats on the board.

Voters elected Russ Snoble and Jermiah English to serve their first terms as separate trustees of the school board. John Croken will return to the separate school board a second time after previously serving 18 years as a trustee.

Unofficial results for the city of Grande Prairie show that 9,763 residents voted in municipal elections, representing 21.7 percent of eligible voters in the city.
