Police in Stratford, Ontario have filed multiple charges against a suspected porch hack who they say was caught on a home surveillance camera stealing packages from someone’s front porch.
Police said they were tipped off by a West End resident shortly before noon Monday, who told officers they saw a man taking two Amazon packages from his porch after first being alerted by his security camera. .
A description was provided, and police say officers later located a matching suspect in a nearby parking lot.

Police said they found the packages in a backpack and allege the suspect was in possession of several other items, including other people’s checks and a license plate that had been stolen in 2020.
The defendant, a 33-year-old Stratford man, faces multiple charges including theft of less than $5,000, possession of property obtained through a crime, breach of commitment and breach of probation.
The man has since been released with a commitment to appear in court at the end of February.
