Still no sign of Cape Breton senior disappearing

HALIFAX –

The search for a missing Cape Breton senior returned Sunday after it was suspended Saturday night.

The Nova Scotia Mounted Police say Susan Bain, 79, of Middle River, NS, was last seen walking her dog on Friday around 9 a.m. His dog has since been found.

A helicopter and several search and rescue agencies on the ground passed by on Saturday looking for any trace of the missing woman. The search was suspended that night.

RCMP says search teams were back on the ground and in the air Sunday. The Sydney Mines Fire Department’s water rescue unit was also in the water as added protection for seekers along the water’s edge.

Still no sign of Brain as of Sunday night.

She is described as 5’7 and approximately 125 pounds, with shoulder-length white hair and brown eyes. He may be wearing glasses.

Police say they are concerned for his safety.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to contact RCMP.
