Staff shortage prompts Campbellford Memorial Hospital to close the ER on Christmas Eve – Peterborough | The Canadian News

“Staffing difficulties” are causing a half-day emergency department closure at Campbellford Memorial Hospital beginning Friday night.

The hospital says the closure will go into effect at 5 p.m. Friday until 7:30 a.m. Saturday. The hospital says a contingency plan is in place to ensure minimal impact on patient care, including ambulances, which will transport patients directly to the nearest area hospital offering emergency services.
