Special weather statement issued ahead of possible freezing rain for region

Residents should be prepared as Southwestern Ontario is under a special weather statement from Environment Canada.

A mix of freezing rain and ice pellets is possible Tuesday night before changing to rain early Wednesday morning.

It’s uncertain when exactly the freezing rain will arrive and the amount.

The statement covers London-Middlesex, Elgin, Oxford-Brant, Sarnia-Lambton, Huron-Perth, Grey-Bruce, Norfolk, Haldimand, Chatham-Kent and Windsor-Essex.

Untreated surfaces may become slippery and extreme caution should be used by motorists and pedestrians.
