Spain’s economic recovery plan is debated in Barcelona

  • Prensa Ibérica organizes a day of talks in which the execution of the 69,500 million euros of European funds will be analyzed

Last July the European Union (EU) gave the green light to recovery plan from Spain, a program developed by the government of Pedro Sanchez to reactivate the national economy after the bump that has been the impact of the coronavirus pandemic covid-19. But, how will the 69,500 million euros of the European funds? This Thursday, Barcelona will try to answer those doubts at the event ‘Mobility, talent, execution’ organized by Futuribles Barcelona, ​​an initiative of Iberian Press.

For this, the day will feature the presentations of Jordi Puigneró, ‘vice-president’ of the Generalitat de Catalunya; Rachel Sanchez, Minister of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda; Maria del Pilar Alegria, Minister of Education and Vocational Training; and Francisco Marin, director of ‘Futuribles’ and National Award for Innovative Career 2020 by the Ministry of Science and Innovation.

The event will open with a welcome from Albert Sáez, director of EL PERIÓDICO DE CATALUNYA, and Núria Marín i Martínez, Mayor of L’Hospitalet, President of the Barcelona Provincial Council and Vice President of the Urban Assembly of Catalonia.

Three round tables

In addition, there will be three round tables. The first will discuss the role of administrations in the implementation of the recovery plan and will have the experience of Ricard Font, Secretary General of the Vice-Presidency, Digital Policies and Territory of the Generalitat de Catalunya; Antoni poveda, Vice President of Mobility, Transport and Sustainability of the Metropolitan Area of ​​Barcelona; Gerardo Lertxundi, executive director of TMB; and Jose castro, Deputy Mayor for coexistence and security of the Hospitalet City Council.

The second will deal with the private role in the recovery plan and in it they will participate Jose Manuel Casas Aljama, CEO of Telefónica in Eastern Territory; Jordi Nicolau, director de Retail, Customer Experience & Dia a Dia a CaixaBank; Joaquim Guilera, CEO of Coolmag Thermo Conductive; and Andrea Florence, Managing Director of Covestro Spain.
