Southeast registers the highest rise in industrial activity


Guadalajara, Jalisco. Tabasco was the state that had the highest growth in the country in industrial activity during the beginning of 2022, of 32.8% at an annual rate; Morelos followed with 24.9%, Sonora 18.7%, Hidalgo 17.6% and Yucatán 10.5 percent.

The other entities whose industrial activity increased above the national increase (4.3%) were Sinaloa with 7.7%, Chiapas with 7.2%, Jalisco with 6.5%, Michoacán with 5.1%, State of Mexico with 4.7%, Tlaxcala with 4.7% and Nuevo León with 4.4%, according to data from the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (Inegi).

Meanwhile, the states that had the highest growth, when comparing their activity with the immediately previous month (monthly variation), were Quintana Roo with 12.7%, Chiapas with 10.9% and Yucatán with 10.8 percent.

There were 14 states whose industrial activity grew above the national figure (1.3%), seasonally adjusted.

In addition to Quintana Roo, Chiapas and Yucatán, Sonora (10.4%), Nayarit (9.5%), Oaxaca (6.6%), Chihuahua (5.6%), Hidalgo (4.9%), Campeche (4.5%), Aguascalientes (4.3%) also stand out. %), Tabasco (4.2%), Sinaloa (3.8%), Tamaulipas (2.4%) and Jalisco (2.2 percent).

Other states whose industrial activity grew, although below the national increase, were Guerrero with 1.2%, Guanajuato with 0.8%, Zacatecas with 0.7% and Puebla with 0.4 percent.

Meanwhile, 14 of the 32 entities showed monthly decreases in their industrial activity during January.

These states were Michoacán, Nuevo León and Coahuila with -0.3%, Tlaxcala with -0.8%, Baja California with -1.0%, Querétaro with -1.4% and Mexico City with -2.4 percent.

Baja California Sur, Durango, San Luis Potosí and Estado de México are in the same condition with a negative variation of -2.5, -3.4, -4.2 and -4.2%, respectively.

The entities with the most pronounced declines were Colima with -7.7%, Morelos with -5.7% and Veracruz with -4.9 percent.

By sectors, in construction, the states that stood out the most were Morelos, Tlaxcala, Tabasco and Yucatán.

In generation, transmission and distribution of electric power, the entities with the best performance were Morelos, Yucatán and Guerrero; and in the mining sector, the states whose industry grew the most were Querétaro, Tabasco, Chiapas and Morelos.
