Sinaloa and Arizona strengthen ties in economic development


  • The Secretary of Economy, Javier Gaxiola Coppel held a work agenda in Phoenix, Arizona.

Phoenix, Arizona, May 25, 2022.- Sinaloa is a great destination to invest in sectors such as industry, commerce and high-scale manufacturing, said the Secretary of the Economy of Sinaloa, Javier Gaxiola Coppel on a work tour of Phoenix, Arizona.

As instructed by the Governor, Rubén Rocha Moya, the secretary held meetings with the Consul General of Mexico in Phoenix, with whom he shared what Sinaloa can contribute to the great development and economic growth in industrial matters that Arizona has.

With the President and General Director of the Arizona Commerce Authority, Sandra Watson, the person in charge of Economic Development by the Office of the Governor of Arizona, with whom it was agreed to work on a proposal where Sinaloa serves as a complementary state to its advanced manufacturing strategy. With the aim of landing supplier plants that work within their supply chains.

As part of the work agenda, the Secretary of the Economy presented Sinaloa as an investment destination for expansion plans of industrial companies already operating in Phoenix before businessmen and local authorities; he highlighted the competitive advantages of Sinaloa in the face of the industrial and mining development of Arizona; and promoted Sinaloa as a hub for industrial development and a complement to the value chains of US companies.

The work agenda held by the Sinaloa Secretary of Economy included meetings with authorities and key players from companies with whom he positioned Sinaloa as an important industrial and development pole, which can provide benefits to their businesses.

“Between the United States and Mexico, we must continue working hand in hand on the issue of industry, culture, and workers to strengthen a more complementary area than it has been until now,” Secretary Javier Gaxiola Coppel said.

The official toured the Arizona Fresh “Agrifood Innovation Center”, a wholesale product distribution center that will strengthen agricultural production. Headed by Guadalupe Miranda, a Sinaloan based in Phoenix, who will add great value to what is produced in our state.

He held a meeting with the Founder and Director of Chicanos Por La Causa (CPLC), David Adame, one of the largest Hispanic community development corporations in the US and with whom we will be able to work hand in hand for Sinaloans.

He also had meetings with authorities from the Phoenix Department of Economic and Community Development; and personalities from agri-food companies and industry: Americano Foods; Greater Phoenix Economic Council (GPEC); Urbix Company; Nikola Corporation; Arizona Aerospace Association; and the Sprouts store.

Sinaloa has the conditions to receive large industries. As part of the State Development Plan presented by the Governor, from the Ministry of Economy we strengthen ties between states to attract more investment to Sinaloa, with a clear course towards industrialization.

On this working visit, they accompanied the Secretary of Economy, the Under Secretary for Promotion and Economic Competitiveness, Felipe Ibarra Retamoza, and the Director of the Investment Attraction Center, Germán Rivera.
