A 50-year-old shooting victim whose body was found in a Lachine apartment Sunday night has become the 33rd homicide victim in Montreal this year.
Montreal police said they received multiple calls to the 911 emergency center around 8 p.m. reporting that a man was seen lying on the floor of an apartment on the corner of St-Joseph Blvd. and Ste-Marie St. in the Lachine district.
Attempts to resuscitate the man, who had been shot at least once, were unsuccessful and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The murder is the 33rd this year in the territory patrolled by the Montreal police.
