North Vancouver RCMP are responding to a shooting in the parking lot of Superstore in the 300-block of Seymour Blvd.

Jeremy Liddle had pulled into the parking lot to get groceries when he saw the large police presence.

“I saw a guy on the ground that police were working on,” he said. “There was a BMW that had backed into another vehicle in the parking lot.”

Witnesses had told him that they heard five or six shots and a station wagon speeding off.

Later, Liddle saw an ambulance leaving the parking lot, with lights on and sirens blaring. “So I’m hoping that the guy is OK”

Police are warning people to avoid the area if they can.

The incident is causing major traffic delays, especially on the southbound lanes of the Ironworkers Bridge. The store is located beside the Trans-Canada Highway, just north of the bridge.
