Sherbrooke: sexually assaulted by the delivery man

A parcel deliverer who had just left a package at a woman’s house reportedly managed to enter her home to sexually assault her in Sherbrooke.

Police arrested the alleged perpetrator, a 26-year-old man, who was later released on a promise to appear at a later date.

The events occurred on Tuesday, a little before dinnertime.

At around 11:35 a.m., the suspect allegedly delivered a package to the victim’s doorstep and pretended to be thirsty and asked the woman for a glass of water.

Unsuspecting, the latter would have let him in to offer him water. The suspect, however, would have taken the opportunity to sexually assault the elderly woman in her thirties.

The victim contacted the police just minutes after the events.

Sherbrooke police said they would not release any further details about the case “out of respect for the court.”

The suspect now faces charges of sexual assault and breaking and entering. Authorities said the investigation was still ongoing and that “further charges may eventually be filed.”

The alleged sexual aggressor must return to court on June 9 for further proceedings.
