Sherbrooke: a 25-year-old woman stabbed by her spouse


A 25-year-old woman was stabbed by her husband, who was arrested in Sherbrooke, on the night of Monday to Tuesday.

Police were called by the victim shortly after midnight in relation to his stabbing that occurred at a building on Bryant Street near King Street West.

The victim was rushed to a hospital for non-life-threatening abdominal injuries.

Witnesses told the police that they heard screams, while the suspect fled on foot, according to the Sherbrooke Police Service (SPS).

“As officers searched the outer perimeter for the suspect, they located a shirtless male matching the description,” police said.

The suspect, a 26-year-old man, was immediately arrested and will appear in custody later today on a charge of assault with a weapon, it was added.
